Bank-Powered Giving

Your Church is Losing Money on Every Donation

Most churches use credit card-based giving platforms that charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. That means on a $500 tithe, $14.80 goes to processing fees instead of your ministry. On $10,000/month, that's $320/month wasted.

NetGive offers ACH bank transfers — so your church keeps more of every dollar.

How It Works

Giving in Three Simple Steps.

NetGive makes bank giving feel as effortless as tapping a card — your members barely notice the difference, but your church keeps far more of every gift.

01

Connect once, securely

Members link their bank one time through Stripe’s secure connection — no typing routing and account numbers every time. Recurring givers are set for life; one-time guests get a quick, secure re-link.

02

Give in a tap

When they’re ready to give, it’s a single tap. Funds pull straight from their bank — just like a card, but without the steep card fees.

03

More reaches your ministry

Because bank giving costs a fraction of card processing, more of every dollar lands in your church’s account — automatically, every time.

The whole connection takes about 30 seconds and is fully encrypted — bank details never touch our servers.

Transparent Pricing

One Simple Fee. Always Lower Than Cards.

NetGive combines secure bank processing and our platform fee into one clear cost — 1.5% capped at $15, plus bank processing capped at $5. The result: you stay cheaper than credit cards at every gift size, big or small.

What You Pay vs. a Typical Card Platform

From a $20 gift to a $50,000 gift — NetGive keeps more in ministry

Gift AmountNetGive FeeCard PlatformYou Save
$20$0.46$0.88+$0.42
$50$1.15$1.75+$0.60
$100$2.30$3.20+$0.90
$250$5.75$7.55+$1.80
$500$11.50$14.80+$3.30
$1,000$20.00$29.30+$9.30
$5,000$20.00$145.30+$125.30
$10,000$20.00$290.30+$270.30
$50,000$20.00$1,450.30+$1,430.30

Because both fees are capped, NetGive's total cost never climbs above $20 per gift — while card fees keep rising with the gift size. Card rate shown: 2.9% + $0.30.

FLAT-RATE OPTION

Prefer a predictable monthly price?

High-volume churches can switch to a simple monthly subscription — pay one flat fee and NetGive takes $0 per gift. Givers only cover the small bank processing cost. Ask us which plan keeps the most in your ministry.

The $20 Cap, Explained

At What Gift Size Does the $20 Cap Kick In?

Great question — and an important one. NetGive's total fee is built from two parts, and each part stops growing once it hits its cap. Here is exactly when that happens, in plain English.

PART 1 — PLATFORM FEE

1.5%, capped at $15

Our platform fee is 1.5% of the gift. It keeps growing with the gift — but only until it reaches $15.

1.5% equals $15 at a gift of $1,000.

On any gift of $1,000 or more, this part stays frozen at $15 — it never goes higher.

PART 2 — BANK PROCESSING

0.8%, capped at $5

Secure bank (ACH) processing is 0.8% of the gift. It also keeps growing — but only until it reaches $5.

0.8% equals $5 at a gift of $625.

On any gift of $625 or more, this part stays frozen at $5 — it never goes higher.

So the famous “$20 cap” locks in at $1,000.

Once a single gift reaches $1,000, both parts are maxed out — $15 platform plus $5 processing — so the total fee freezes at a flat $20. A $1,000 gift, a $5,000 gift, even a $50,000 gift all cost exactly $20. Below $1,000, you simply pay the small percentage, which is always less than $20.

$1,000 gift → $20$5,000 gift → $20$50,000 gift → $20
The Research

Why Bank Giving Wins

We studied giving data across more than 37,000 churches. The pattern is unmistakable: when a church makes bank giving the default, both generosity and consistency go up.

$261

Average bank gift

Donors giving by bank transfer give an average of $217–$261 per gift — nearly double the $135–$152 average for card gifts.

50%

Less likely to cancel

Recurring bank gifts are about 50% less likely to be canceled than card gifts, which fail when cards expire, get reissued, or decline.

42%

More from recurring givers

Recurring donors give roughly 42% more per year than one-time givers — and bank giving is what makes recurring stick.

71%

Of volume goes to bank

When a platform actively makes bank giving the default, it grows to 70–71% of total giving volume. Card-default platforms leave bank giving stuck at 16–30%.

50%

More likely among major givers

High-income households ($100k+) — a church’s largest givers — are 50% more likely to choose bank transfer over cards.

~50%

Of all giving is now digital

About half of all church giving is now digital, and 98% of churches offer digital giving. The question isn’t whether to go digital — it’s how to do it without bleeding fees.

The honest part: bank giving isn't for impulse gifts.

Cards still win for first-time visitors and spur-of-the-moment gifts. But 80%+ of a church's dollars come from its committed, recurring base — and that's exactly where bank giving shines. NetGive is built for the giving that sustains your ministry, not the one-off swipe.

How ACH Actually Works

Members hear 'bank transfer' and think it's complicated. It's not. Here's what they actually experience.

STEP 1

Choose Amount

Member picks their donation amount and selects "Bank Account (ACH)" as their payment method.

STEP 2

Find Their Bank

Stripe's secure popup shows their bank (Chase, BofA, Wells Fargo, Capital One, etc.). They tap to select it.

STEP 3

Login & Confirm

They log into their bank app within Stripe's secure window. No account numbers needed — it's all automated.

STEP 4

Done!

Donation complete! Money pulls from their bank automatically — just like a card charge. For recurring giving, their bank is saved and future payments auto-pull. No manual transfers ever.

It's as easy as paying with a card — but your church saves 75% on fees. Powered by Stripe Financial Connections, the same technology used by millions of businesses.
